One of the most high profile recruits in New Jersey is staying home to play for first year Scarlet Knights head coach Chris Ash.  Saint John Vianney offensive lineman Micah Clark along with his teammate Jamaal Beaty have given a verbal commitment to play for Rutgers

Saint John Vianney offensive lineman and two time SSZ All-Zone selection Micah Clark has given a verbal commitment to play Division I football at Rutgers and first year head coach Chris Ash.  Clark was not only regarded as one of the top recruits in New Jersey, but one of the top offensive line prospects in America.  The 6-foot-4, 275 pound athletic lineman chose Rutgers over dozens of other offers including top ranked programs ranging from Clemson to Ohio State and Alabama among many others.

Joining Clark at Rutgers is fellow offensive lineman and his stepbrother, Jamaal Beaty.  The 6-foot-3, 270 pounder received an offer from the Scarlet Knights in February.

Clark and Beaty are the 3rd and 4th local players to commit to a Division I program.  Toms River North’s Bryce Watts has also committed to Rutgers.  The trio joins Ocean Township’s Kenny Pickett (Temple) as Division I recruits from the Shore Conference who have committed prior to their senior season of high school football.
