SSZ has highlights from the first day of the 2017 high school lacrosse season. Red Bank Catholic scored an 11-7 win over Shore Regional in a matchup of two girls powers and Saint Rose came to Little Silver and impressed against Red Bank Regional

A trio of Caseys scored three goals as RBC was able to pull away late in the second half to top the Blue Devils in an opening day matchup of top five Shore Conference powers. Olivia Farrington, Mackenzie Boyle and Amanda Murphy all scored three goals for RBC. Ally Reiser paced Shore Regional with four goals. Watch the highlights from Count Basie Field in Red Bank:

Chris Bormida scored five times and Shane Reilly added four scores as the Purple Roses open the season with a road win at RBR. Saint Rose had a 3-1 lead at the half before busting the game open in the third quarter. Watch the highlights from Little Silver:
