Mason O’Mara took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and went 6.2 innings giving up just one hit and striking out 10 as Red Bank Regional earned a 3-1 win at Rumson-Fair Haven.  SSZ has the highlights from Monday afternoon Shore Conference baseball

Red Bank Regional 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Mason O’Mara struck out 10 RFH Bulldogs and surrendered just one hit as the Bucs avenged a heartbreaking loss to Rumson earlier in the season.  Gordon Forsythe matched O’Mara with goose eggs on the scoreboard until the 5th inning when RBR scored a pair of runs sparked by a John Juco check swing that went into the hole at short after a hit and run to drive in Aiden Kelly.  An error on a bunt attempt made it 2-0 Red Bank Regional.  O’Mara hit three straight batters in the bottom of the 5th, but got out of the jam and was just five outs away from a no-hitter before Alec Walsack broke up the bid with one out in the 6th.  O’Mara’s 10th strikeout came with two outs in the 7th.  The righty who’s signed to play Division I baseball at George Mason had to leave the game after reaching the 110 pitch limit.  Rumson scored a run on an error and had the winning run at the plate, but Dan Wagner got a strikeout to earn the save.  Watch the highlights from a great game on Monday in Rumson:
