SSZ has full highlights and post-game reaction of Middletown North’s 5-4 win over Ramsey to win the Public “B” state hockey championship

NEWARK – Bobby Hampton had two goals and two assists including the game winner, as Middletown North held off Ramsey 5-4 to win its first ice hockey state championship at the Prudential Center.  The Lions struck first on a goal by senior Kevin Felice, but Alex Whelan had two straight goals to put Ramsey in front 2-1.  Hampton’s first goal of the game off a great feed from Khristian Acosta tied the game at two through 15 minutes.  The Lions broke open a 3-3 game with goals by Acosta and Hampton.  Hampton’s second tally came on the power play with less than a minute in the period.  Anthony Manfredi made a number of key saves in the third period.  Ramsey scored with 46 seconds left in the game, but the Lions were able to run out the clock and celebrate a state title under head coach Matt Clemente.  Watch all the highlights and post-game interviews here:
