Ocean Township quarterback and SSZ All-Zoner Kenny Pickett has given a verbal commitment to play Division I FBS football at Temple

SSZ All-Zone quarterback Kenny Pickett of Ocean Township was picking up steam in the recruiting world following an outstanding junior season.  Pickett had seven offers before making the decision to join the Temple Owls following his senior season.  Pickett chose the Philadelphia school over UConn, Buffalo, Texas State, Monmouth and Toledo.  As a junior, Pickett was one of the Shore’s top signal callers throwing for over 1700 yards and delivering an outstanding TD to INT ratio of 19 to 4.  Pickett made the announcement via his Twitter account:

Temple coach Matt Rhule has made a significant impact recruiting in the Shore Conference.  With the Lakewood duo of Chapelle Cook and Amir Tyler along with the preferred walk-ons of Mike and Anthony Nobile from Brick Memorial, the Owls will have a Shore Conference feel to it in the coming years.  The Owls finished 10-4 in 2015 reaching the Boca Raton Bowl.
