Immaculate Heart Academy excelled in hitting, pitching and defense to top the Griffins for a second straight year in the Non-Public “A” softball finals. A Mia Recenello solo homer got the scoring started for the Blue Eagles in the second inning and a Reagan Jones RBI single made it a 2-0 lead. Donovan Catholic threatened in the fifth inning thanks to a Lindsay Nelson RBI double, but Jayda Kearney’s deep blast to right center was a couple of feet away from a go ahead two run homer, but instead was caught at the fence.
