Matawan 10 Raritan 8

The Huskies used a six-run third inning to reach the ten run mark, but had to hold off a seventh inning Rockets rally to get to 6-1 on the season.  Raritan used seven singles in the top of the third to score four runs and take a 5-4 lead before Matawan put together their six run frame.  Jen Lloyd went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s and Lauren Conroy was 1-2 with 2 runs, 2 RBI’s along with 2 walks.  Jessica Veary hit a 2-run homer in the first for the Huskies and Raritan’s Morgan O’Donnell went deep with a solo shot in the 7th, but Meghan Rutch came on in relief and picked up the win with 4.2 innings of strong work on the hill.  Watch the highlights from Wednesday afternoon in our US Army Softball Game of the Week:
