Marc Dennis poured in 22 points and Tyree Morris added 16 as the Green Wave get their second win of the season. Long Branch upset Manasquan earlier this season and pick up their second quality win in “B” North play. The Lions are without top scorer Rob Higgins who has a wrist injury. Marc Cerbo led the way for Middletown North with 20 points. The Lions got within 35-32 at the end of three quarters, but never took the lead. Watch the action from Thursday night in Middletown:
Freehold Township 40 Colts Neck 32
The Patriots used a 14-4 run in the third quarter to take the lead and hold off the Cougars in a rematch of last year’s sectional final. Ryan Zyskowski had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Steve Staklinski added 10 as head coach Brian Golub’s team is now a perfect 8-0. Ben Bosland and Brendan Clarke had 9 points each in a losing effort.
