Rumson-Fair Haven 4 Point Pleasant Boro 3

Conor Deverin scored a pair of goals including the game winner in short handed fashion to give Rumson-Fair Haven a 4-3 win at home over the Point Pleasant Boro Panthers on Monday night at the Red Bank Armory.  The Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 first period lead thanks to a pair of goals from Eric Dahl.  RFH tied the game at two at the end of two periods thanks to goals from Colin Anderson and Deverin.  The 3rd period saw great back and forth play.  After Jack Spagnuola gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead, John Callender’s shot from the point through traffic with a two man advantage drew Point Boro even with just over seven minutes to go.  The Panthers still had a 5 on 4 man advantage, but Deverin took a feed from the corner to give the Bulldogs the win at the 6:40 mark.  Sean Ryan had 40 saves for RFH, who handed 3-1 Point Boro its first loss of the year.  RFH now has back to back wins in comeback fashion.  On Saturday, the Bulldogs erupted for six goals in the third period in a 7-3 win at Freehold Township.  Watch the highlights from a great high school hockey matchup:
