Two special moments in one game for Middletown South senior Alexandra Balsamo. She scored her 1000th career point in the first half of the Eagles game against crosstown rival Middletown North and followed that with a buzzer beating three pointer to score a 61-58 win. Alexandra Balsamo drained a three-pointer at the buzzer and scored her 1000th career point earlier in the game to give the Eagles a win over their crosstown rival. Middletown North trailed 51-33 midway through the third quarter before staging a remarkable comeback. Hailee Hallard led the Lions with 21 points and Kamani Williams scored 13. Williams tied the game at 58 with a layup in the paint and Hallard stole the ball from Haley Dalonzo giving the Lions a chance to go for the win with 14.7 seconds to go. A missed shot by Williams was hauled down by Dalonzo, who pushed the ball upcourt. Isla Brennan fed the ball cross court to Balsamo who took a deep three-pointer to win the game. Balsamo had 18 points and Dalonzo scored 17 points along with 12 rebounds. Watch highlights of a great game from Thursday night in Middletown:
