The US Army presents the best of the best from the winter sports season.  We honor the All-Zone team for boys basketball, girls basketball and hockey.  Watch the profiles of all our recipients and all of our post-season honors

Over 60 athletes were honored in Eatontown at the 3rd annual SSZ Winter Sports Banquet presented by the US Army.  The All-Zone team was honored in boys basketball, girls basketball and hockey.  Shore Sports Zone showed highlight videos of all the honorees and presented our player of the year awards in all three sports.  Monmouth Building Center Game Ball winners from the state champions were on hand as well as the Playa Bowls of Red Bank Plays of the Year winners.

Dara Mabrey wins 2017 SSZ Miss Hoop Zone

Manasquan guard Dara Mabrey was named Gatorade’s NJ state player of the year and the accolades continue for the junior as she received 28 first place votes from Shore Conference coaches.  Neptune’s Desiree Allen and RBC’s Josie Larkins were on the podium as SSZ Miss Hoop Zone Finalists

Elijah Barnes wins 2017 SSZ Mister Hoop Zone

Princeton bound Elijah Barnes of Mater Dei Prep wins our 2017 SSZ Mister Hoop Zone after leading the Seraphs to a second straight SCT championship.  Ranney sophomore Bryan Antoine was runner-up and Marlboro’s PJ Ringel finished in third

Shane Haviland is SSZ’s 2017 Hockey Player of the Year

Wall forward Shane Haviland led the Crimson Knights to its first state finals and was the winner of SSZ’s 2017 Hockey Player of the Year.  Central Regional’s 100 point scorer Mike Mania and Jackson Memorial defenseman Trevor Cear joined Haviland on the podium
