Shore Sports Zone plays a hole with Colts Neck senior and Rutgers commit Emily Mills

Emily Mills has wrapped up an outstanding high school career at Colts Neck High School and is ready to begin her college golf career.  Mills has signed a national letter of intent to play Division I golf at Rutgers.  Her USGA handicap is +1.7 and her home course is Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club in Farmingdale.  Living just across the street from the 14th green, Emily often sneaks out after dinner and chips and putts before darkness sets in.

Emily took us on the par 3 5th hole at Eagle Oaks and it’s important to note that the story above was all done on one take!

Mills won the Monmouth County Tournament after two straight second place finishes.  Her best finish in the Tournament of Champions was a 5th place effort in 2013.  Her long list of accomplishments include Hewlett-Packard Scholastic All-American, and a pair of third place finishes on the National American Junior Golf Association Circuit (Philadelphia Junior in 2013, Randy Wide Junior Open in 2012).  She’s ranked 44th in the GolfWeek world rankings for the Class of 2014.  Mills is ranked in the top-10 academically in her class at Colts Neck.

A special thanks to Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club for allowing Shore Sports Zone to showcase their outstanding golf course.  You can check them out at www.eagleoaks.com
